Lord Krishna Connection from Ujjain 

Ujjain has been a significant centre of devotion to Lord Krishna according to ancient scriptures. Lord Krishna and his elder brother Balarama received their education from Guru Sandipani while residing at his ashram in Ujjain. It was here, under Guru Sandipani’s guidance, that Lord Krishna mastered various arts, making this site a revered pilgrimage destination for his devotees. The ISKCON temple is a major attraction, renowned for its exquisite architecture and craftsmanship. It is constructed using white Makrana marble, the same type used in the Taj Mahal, which lends it breathtaking beauty. The temple walls feature depictions of the divine pastimes of Lord Krishna. Five principal altars are enshrined within the temple, dedicated to:

Krishna Janmashtami

From morning until evening on this day, the entire temple complex remains immersed in devotion to Krishna.

Jagannath Rath Yatra

The festival of Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra is celebrated here with great enthusiasm and joy. Thousands of devotees gather on this day to witness the procession. Lord Jagannath’s chariot is beautifully decorated, and the deities—Lord Jagannath, Balarama, and Subhadra are pulled through the streets by devotees. 

Best Time to Visit the Ujjain ISKON Temple

The ISKCON temple in Ujjain remains open to devotees throughout the year, and the atmosphere of Krishna devotion, bhajans, and kirtans here is renowned. By Train:

The easiest way to reach Ujjain there are so many trains directly connected through this route. Book your tickets from the IRCTC Next Generation Ticketing System. 

ISKON temple is located approximately 5 km from Ujjain Railway Station. Visitors can easily reach the town by road from either location. 

By Air:

You can also choose the air route. Devi Ahilya Bai Hokar Airport in Indore, ISKON temple is located approximately 54 km from Indore.

By Road:

Travel by car or bus is also a good option. You can reach there with your vehicle, and road connectivity is good. Ujjain is connected with National and State highways.
