Mangal Dosh-

• It’s believed to affect marriage and married life, potentially causing delays in marriage or conflict between spouses

Bhat Puja(main ritual here)

• Traditional story- gods used curd and rice to cool down Mars’s fierce/aggressive nature — this is the origin of “Bhat Puja”
• This puja is performed by a pandit with proper sankalp (ritual vow) in the person’s name and gotra
• Common puja materials: red cloth, red sandalwood, sesame seeds, jaggery, lentils (masoor dal), coral (moonga)
• Usually takes about 1-2 hours
• Best done on a Tuesday

How to Reach Mangalnath Temple?

By Rail – Ujjain is the nearest railway station, located around 6 km from the temple. From the railway station, you can hire local auto-rickshaws, taxis, and cabs to get around town.

By Road – Both private and government buses run from Bhopal, Dewas, and Indore to Ujjain. In addition, cabs and private taxis are also available.

By Air – Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, Indore, is the closest airport, located around 61 km from Ujjain. One can reach the temple through taxis and buses available from the airport.

Kal Bhairav Temple 

Located around 6-7 km from Mangalnath Temple, Kal Bhairav Temple is dedicated to Lord Bhairav, who is known for his spiritual energy. Unique rituals are followed, and alcohol is served as an offering.

Ram Ghat 

 Ram Ghat is easily reachable and is located 6 km away from the Mangalnath temple. It attracts devotees to take holy baths in the Kshipra River and attend evening aarti. There are also several ancient ashrams that can be visited across the river. It is also ideal for daily meditation and morning prayers.

Visitor Tips

•         Devotees have to wear simple or traditional clothing.
•         No photography is allowed in the temple premises. Visitors can take photographs only from outside.
•         Visitors should arrive early to avoid long queues and crowds, especially during major festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, and Diwali.
•         Digital payments may not be accepted in some offerings and prayers.
•         Visitors should remove footwear, follow rituals, and respect decorum in the sanctum.
