Nanded is a holy city. Pachmarhi is holy too. Its hills are linked to Lord Shiva. People come all year to temples like Jata Shankar, Bada Mahadev and Chauragarh. Around them are forests, waterfalls and cool hilltops.
Pachmarhi is the only hill station in Madhya Pradesh. It is part of the Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve. Many trains go from Nanded to Itarsi each week. Two of them run every day. We pick you up at Pipariya and plan the rest.

How to Reach Pachmarhi from Nanded
No train goes straight from Nanded to Pipariya. So take a train to Itarsi first, then change. Many trains go from Itarsi to Pipariya, day and night. Most take 1 to 2 hours.

By Air
There are few flights from Nanded. You can fly to Bhopal through Hyderabad or Mumbai. Then take a train to Pipariya. But the train from Nanded is easier.
By Road
By car, it takes one full, long day. Families who like road trips can go by car. Ask us about the route.
Pickup & Drop at Pipariya
Our driver waits for you at Pipariya station. Pachmarhi is about 50 km away, on a hill road with many turns. It takes 1.5 to 2 hours. The Hyderabad–Jaipur trains reach Itarsi around noon. That makes Day 1 easy. The Sachkhand Express reaches Itarsi at midnight. Then you can go to Pipariya the next morning.

Day 1: Reach Pipariya and Go Up
Arrival + Transfer- From Itarsi, take a short train to Pipariya.
- Our driver meets you and drives about 50 km up to Pachmarhi.
- Check in and rest.
- In the evening, see Pachmarhi Lake, Christ Church and the market.

Day 2: Shiva Temples and Chauragarh
Trek + Gypsy temple tour- We start with the temples, because many people from Nanded like that.
- Your Gypsy takes you to Chauragarh.
- Climb about 1,300 steps to the Shiva temple on the hilltop.
- Then see Bada Mahadev and Gupt Mahadev, a small cave temple.
- Last, see Jata Shankar in a shady valley.

Day 3: Forest Places by Gypsy
Gypsy sightseeing- After breakfast, go out with your own Gypsy and guide.
- Entry fees and the permit are paid.
- See Pandav Caves, the museum and Bee Falls.
- Then see Bhavya Drishya, Asan Drishya, Eco Point and Reechhgarh.
- End at Dhupgarh for a golden sunset.

Day 4: Handi Khoh and Going Home
Sightseeing + Drop- Check out after breakfast.

- Mahashivratri is the biggest festival at Chauragarh. It is special but very crowded. Book months early.
- April to June is good for school holidays. Do the temple climb early in the morning.

12720 runs on Tuesday and Thursday. It reaches Itarsi at noon, so Day 1 is easy. On other days, take 17605. It reaches Itarsi at 8:50 pm.
Which Shiva temples will I see?

When is Chauragarh most crowded?
